Thank you so much to those who participated in our Annual Conference in Bowling Green!

We have updated our Facebook page with pictures from the event.  Collaboration among our members is a testament to our organization.  Members helping members is our legacy.  In the spirit of networking and partnership, we are creating an online document archive for sharing of forms among members.  This information can be invaluable when drafting your own documents.  To share your forms, please e-mail a copy HERE

We acquired a lot of great information from our presentations.  We will try to get copies of as many presentations as possible and upload to the website very soon.  Our primary discussions were fundraising for our continued objectives with legislation affecting our industry, as well as funding the scholarship programs.  We appreciate your candid feedback and will always advocate for the continued growth and prosperity of the marina operators and industry professionals.

Our Trade Show was the largest ever!  We certainly appreciate our vendors taking the time to get in front of the membership and helping to grow our organization.

Thank you for your participation in the Kentucky and Tennessee Marina Association.  Our strength is in our numbers!

Members Address List by Marina

Tennessee Marina Association Members:

An amendment was passed in the General Assembly (Public Chapter No. 267) this year requiring persons that rent motorized watercraft be given an orientation for the particular kind of vessel.   The renter of that watercraft must sign off on a check sheet acknowledging this orientation and the marina, livery or any other rental entity will keep this acknowledgment on file for at least 30 days.

Exemptions:

  • Non-motorized vessel rentals
  • Tennessee residents who have successfully completed a monitored National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) exam and hold the TWRA-issued wallet certification card
  • Any out of state visitor who holds a NASBLA-approved boating safety education certification
  • Any person who holds a United States Coast Guard operator license
  • Any person born on or before January 1, 1989

NASBLA-approved certification will have this logo on the certificate:

Course approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators and recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard.

The TWRA-approved orientation videos and check sheets for acknowledgment can be found at www.rentalboatsafety.com.

Video DVD’s and resources can also be ordered from this website.

The law is in place so this amendment is immediate.  As normal, TWRA will usually grant a year period for compliance unless it involves some sort of extenuating circumstances.
